Tips for Bride’s..
Wedding Scripture Ideas

This part of your ceremony will allow your beliefs to be expressed about your relationship with your guests. Here are some guidelines you may find helpful…

  • Keep the passage to minimal length but filled with the meaning you desire
  • Do not limit yourself to passages that specifically relate to one topic…find some passages that have and important meaning to you
  • Your clergy may allow modification of certain passages
  • Try to choose a passage that will be easy for the reader to read (if someone else is doing it besides the clergy)
  • Let the reader practice the passage before the wedding day

Some of the following are examples of readings chosen for a wedding ceremony and your clergy will also have examples for you…

  • Genesis 2:18-24 ” The Lord God said, ” It is not good for the man to live alone…”
  • Song of Solomaon 8: 66-67 ” Close your heart to every love but mine…”
  • Isaiah 43: 1-5a “……do not be afraid- I will save you. I have called you by name- you are mine”
  • Isaiah 54:10 ” The mountains and hills may crumble, but my love for you will never end…”
  • I Corintians 12:31 ” …. love is patient, love is kind…”
